HOLSTON GASES ACQUIRES DOC RETAIL INC.

Knoxville-based Holston Gases on Friday completed the acquisition of Doc Retail Inc, a division of Dearybury Oil and Gas, which operates in Cowpens, S.C. Holston Gases will merge the operation into its current facility in Spartanburg, S.C.

“We are very pleased to add the Doc Retail Inc. employees and customers into our organization,” Holston Gases president Robert Anders said in a news release. “This is a perfect fit and allows Holston to add residential and commercial propane into our already broad product offering.”

Holston Gases is a regional distributor of industrial, medical, and propane gases as well as welding, safety, and industrial supplies.

SkillsUSA is a U.S. career and technical organization that serves High School and College Students enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations.

Jasper Branch Participates in The Festival of Lights

The Holston Gases Branch in Jasper, Alabama is participating in the Festival of Lights in Downtown Jasper. It benefits The Hope for Women organization that helps abused women and their children with food and shelter for Walker County. The tree was decorated by  Elaine Blackwood and the miniature propane tank was fabricated by Dustin New. Steve Mason, the branch manager at the Jasper location, said “It was awesome seeing our team working on this community project together.”

 

 

Groundbreaking Ceremony for The New Cherokee Technology Center in Gaffney, SC.

Spartanburg, SC.

Connie Salmon, from Holston Gases in Spartanburg, SC., attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony on Monday October 10th for The New Cherokee Technology Center in Gaffney, SC. The Cherokee Technology Center collaborates with the community to prepare high school students for the workforce. The career center will open in 2018 and has room for 800 students.

 

HOLSTON GASES AND SOCON ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced Thursday a sponsorship agreement with Holston Gases, which will serve as the title sponsor for the league’s 2017 baseball tournament. The Holston Gases Southern Conference Baseball Championship will be played May 23-28 at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina.

The deal continues an affiliation between the SoCon and Holston Gases, which was a sponsor for the SoCon Basketball Championships presented by General Shale last season. The baseball sponsorship pact runs through the 2016-17 academic year with an option for additional years.

“We’re very happy to welcome Holston Gases as the title sponsor of our baseball championship in Greenville next May,” SoCon Commissioner John Iamarino said. “We’ve gotten to know their personnel over the past year with their involvement in our basketball tournament, and they’re good people representing a sound company with a long history of service. We think it’s a good fit.”

Holston Gases supplies industrial, medical, propane and beverage gases. Founded in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1958, the company now boasts 30 locations in seven states, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.

“We are looking forward to our expanded sponsorship of the Southern Conference and its championship events,” Holston Gases branch manager Randy McKinney said. “We have been supporting the SoCon basketball tournament in Asheville since its return in 2012. The 2017 Holston Gases SoCon Baseball Championship in Greenville, South Carolina, will give us the opportunity to expand our presence in the Upstate, one of our key growth markets.”
